Why I built Vibe Nursing

Two problems I lived through in nursing school, and the app I built so the students coming after me don’t have to.

Every nursing student knows the feeling. The exam is in two days, and you are staring at a lecture deck that never seems to end, trying to work out what will actually be on the test.

I lived that at Columbia University School of Nursing. And while I was living it, a second problem was waiting for me on the other side of graduation.

Vibe Nursing exists because of those two problems.

Problem one: studying from slides

I spent countless hours turning lecture slides into practice questions. I tried the generic AI tools everyone uses. They could write a question, but never quite the question I needed: not in the style of the exam I was preparing for, not with a rationale I could trust, and not tied to what my professors actually taught.

Practice only works when it feels like the real thing. Mine didn’t.

Problem two: finding a residency

Then came the job search. For most new grads, a nurse residency program is the way into hospital nursing. Finding one was just as frustrating as studying.

The programs are spread across endless hospital websites, and every hospital posts differently. Some open for a short window. Some never list a deadline at all; the posting simply disappears. Job boards mix residencies with roles that need years of experience. Miss a window, and you wait for the next cohort.

I knew I wasn’t alone

My classmates were fighting the same two battles, often in the same week: studying for boards and applying for their first job at the same time.

So I started building. First, a tool that turned my own slides into practice questions, which I shared with my classmates. Then the residency side, because the two problems belong to the same person at the same moment, in the last stretch of nursing school.

What Vibe Nursing does today

Practice from your own material. Upload lecture slides, notes or a study guide, and Prep writes questions in the style of your exam: the NCLEX-RN, the NCLEX-PN, your NP certification board or the CRNA exam. Every question comes with a rationale and the source it came from, and the ones you miss come back for review. With Study Together, a whole class can answer the same questions at the same pace.

Every residency in one place. Vibe Nursing follows 1,258 new-grad residency programs in all 50 states and DC. It reads each hospital’s own page about twice a day, and a person on our team confirms the dates before a program shows as Open or Soon. With Vibe Plus, watch a program and you hear when it opens. Track every application, from watching to offer.

Ready for the interview. Practice the questions a panel asks for your hospital and unit, and see what they listen for.

What I won’t compromise on

Accuracy over volume. I would rather show you fewer programs with dates I trust than a long list of maybes. A program is never marked Open because it seems due.

Your data is yours. Vibe Nursing does not sell it, and never contacts your employer or your school.

Practice, not leaked content. Every question is original, written in the style of the published test plans.

Who it’s for

Nursing students. Future NPs and CRNAs. LPN students. New grads looking for their first job. If you are in that last stretch, studying for boards and filling out applications at the same time, I built this for you.

Vibe Nursing is coming soon to iPhone. If you have an idea, a frustration, or a program I am missing, write to me at support@vibenursing.com. I read every message.
